My official journey in the hair industry began in NYC when I attended the Aveda Institute in Soho. Following graduation of cosmetology school, I apprenticed under Nick Arrojo and really began to hone my craft. NYC and Arrojo Studio provided me with incredible experiences, in the fashion world, at hair shows, and finding the daily art of being behind the chair. At Arrojo Studio, I found my new passion for craft haircutting and razor techniques.
Life took me to Colorado where I established myself as a stylist in a sweet town along the front range. While far from the fast-paced city, I soon fell in love with the nature and mountains surronding this gorgeous town. Bringing my razor techniques enabled me to build an entire book of business in only a few months. I was also able to assist in managerial and business development activities.
KCMO is my childhood home and where my passion for hair began. A friend courageously allowed me to cut her hair when I was 17 despite my lack of training and the use of kitchen scissors. I instantly fell in love and caught the bug. I knew there was a future for me in the passion I had and I went to persue my dream in NYC. After my years away, eventually my family became drawn back to our roots. While maintaining a loyal book of clients, I founded Hair by Sarah Beck to embark on a new journey in educating talented stylists in the razor technique.
